Oregon Bee Atlas: A statewide initiative to document the floral relations of Oregon’s native bee fauna using community scientists.

April 19 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Lincoln Best, Faculty Research Assistant at OSU, will introduce the productive framework for education through the online Master Melittologist program and data production for the Oregon Bee Atlas. These complementary programs have assessed native bee visitors to more than 1,500 plant taxa in the state and have detected several hundred species of bees including new state records and new species. Using a combination of traditional morphological examination and DNA-barcoding to identify species continues to expand our knowledge of the state bee fauna.

This presentation will be in association with the Eugene Natural History Society so please note the different date: FRIDAY, and location: UO Campus.
